AJAX GoogleMap Control

Apr 1, 2008 at 6:14 AM
I'm considering to build up a clone of GoogleMap control names AJAX GoogleMap Control, because of the some problems still coming on using GoogleMap control with ASP.NET AJAX (especially UpdatePanel).
That's why, I'm getting the idea it is better to have GoogleMap control for standard (non-AJAX) use and AJAX GoogleMap control for use with ASP.NET AJAX.
The AJAX GoogleMap control will be build as enetirly ASP.NET AJAX control and included in the GoogleMap control library.

So, guys, what do you think?
Please, let me know your opinion.

first of all- thanks for the timely responses!

i dont think having another flavor of the control is a good idea - just b/c managing both, and the confusion for new developers trying to jump in.

what dont you like about is isinupdatepanel flag?

Yes, I don't like it very much because is something which have to not forget.
And I'm a "lazy" programer :), for sure will forget it at least couple of times.
However, I'm going to check out how to make the control to discover it by itself - without a property to set.

Otherwise, I'm agree with you, this is seems like a bad idea.
So, people forget about this for now :).
