marker manager help needed

Aug 16, 2010 at 6:02 AM

Howdy from the dusty state of idaho, where there are still more cows than computers but some of us are learning this new internets thing.

Installed the control and it works well, VS2008 ASP.NET page.  Thanks for supporting it.  I am having difficult with the marker manager, though.  I set it to enabled, and set the options as illustrated in the video demo on the documentaiton page, but there is no change in functionality.  The Min Zoom option works, so I know the module is there, but it is not reducing overlapping markers.  My map loads about 1500 markers, mostly clustered in larger cities, so there are lots of areas of high overlap, and lots of areas of sparse markers between.  Here is what I have so far.  All hints are welcome, I know it is probably a stupid question.  I did not try it yet on the web server, only in visual studio - maybe that is the issue?  So, sorry - no production site to show.

I asked something similar :)

I made the changes and posted a patch using MarkerClusterer (a open source library).

My question: http://googlemap.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=229054

My answer: http://googlemap.codeplex.com/Project/Download/FileDownload.aspx?DownloadId=153965

You can apply the patch using TortoiseSVN (option to apply patch)
The code is associated with the tree node "sources", so it is up to code that is evolving.
Just go to work this week in applying it to the stable code, because I need a solution like that in a project and Velio's comment is valid, the changes I made were on unstable code is in the process of development.

Hi ,

Thanks a lot for your answer, then this means there will be new release from download page and we can be notified when you're done?

Thats wonderfull! Does it mean your version will have ClusterMarker support in code-behind? I'm not familiar with the routine here, then is that possible that I have it?
