How can I access the GoogleMap javascript object in version 5 of GoogleMap Control? (I am limited to the 3.5 framework in my environment so cannot use version 6)

In older versions I believe you could use the following (ref):

var map = <%= artemGoogleMap.ClientID %>_Map._gmap

and in version 6, I believe you can use the ClientMapID property to access the google javascript object directly.

I am trying to add a .KML overlay to the map, so that once I have a reference to the underlying google map object (ie 'myMapObj') I should be able to use the following:

var kml = new google.maps.KmlLayer("http://mapit.mysociety.org/area/2420.kml");
myMapObj.AddOverlay(kml)
